Saint Mary's music groups tour Ireland The Saint Mary University of Minnesota’s University Chamber Singers and Saint Mary’s Jazz Combo have returned from weeklong concert tours of Ireland; both groups held homecoming performances.

They made it! 17-year-old high school senior Bethany Catlin and her father Dan biked 780 miles, from Franklin, Ind., to St. Paul, Minn., to visit Macalester College and raise money for arthritis. They arrived Aug. 4 to a rousing group of Mac supporters and the rest of the Catlin family.
St. Olaf College student Rebecca Frank ’14 recently received a $250,000 Jefferson Scholars Foundation award to pursue a Ph.D. in classics at the University of Virginia. The Jefferson Fellowship is one of the most highly selective merit graduate fellowships in the nation.

Saint Mary's University received its largest-ever gift, $8 million from Jack and Mary Ann Remick of Rochester to benefit the First Generation Initiative scholarship fund. The first class of nine FGI Scholars graduated May 10 in Winona.
