Transfer students accounted for 22 percent of our undergraduate enrollment in fall 2019. The largest share of transfer students, 44 percent, transferred from Minnesota State community and technical colleges. For more on where are transfer students come from, see the chart below.
We also know that our transfer students reflect the state’s diversity: Among transfer students, more than one in three were students of color and Native American students.
The report examines where students who transfer into Minnesota’s private colleges and universities were previously enrolled. Findings are broken down by institutional sector for both in-state and out-of-state transfer students, the type of program students transfer into (traditional and non-traditional) and the terms of transfer.
